What to expect on your first visit

We are so glad that you are interested in learning more about Auburn UMC and what we are all about! If you choose to visit the church here iare a few things that may be helpful:

Sunday School for ALL AGES is at 9:00am The children/youth/teachers all gather upstairs in the Children's Chapel for a few minutes of singing and prayer and then they break up into their age appropriate Sunday school classes! Adults are welcome to go straight to their class at 9:00am. There is coffee ready for all by 9am each Sunday!

Cereal Break is from 10:00am-10:30am  Join us in the Fellowship Hall after Sunday School/before worship to grab a bite to eat or a cup of coffee. Originally intended for the children but all ages have been gathering and connecting during this time! More the merrier.

Worship is at 10:30am (Sunday after Labor Day-June).  Come as you are. Some people choose to get "dressed up" and others sport a more casual style. Whatever you are comfortable wearing will be fine. Come as you are!

NOTE: Worship is at 9am for the Summer months. July -Labor Day. We worship outside unless it is raining every Sunday in the summer. Feel free to bring a comfy camp chair and a blanket for the kids if you'd like. We also have regular chairs set up too! Very causual.

We are a diverse congregation of all ages. There is a nursery (with a paid staff person) along with Safe Sanctuary trained volunteers each Sunday morning. You can drop you child off for the whole service and feel free to keep them in worship with you! We are a child friendly church. If you have a fussy child you can use one of the rockers in the back of the sanctuary. We also have the service live-streamed into the Lounge room (with many chairs) and the Nursery if you wish to step out for a bit.

Parking is located behind the church on Fitch Ave. There is a large parking lot. If you enter the first driveway, you can drop off the people in your car at the front door and then park in the lot in a spont designated for 'visitors'.  There are also special designated Handicapped parking spots available. There are two entrances (one near the fellowship hall and one near the sanctuary). If you are walking from the parking lot the first set of doble doors is where you can enter and hang up your coats and grab a free cup of coffee and head on in to the sanctuary for worship!. The other entrance is the one right near the sanctuary and where our Welcome Center is set up.

You will be greeted at the door by our Sunday morning greeters.

Our worship is about an hour or so long. Sometimes we go over 10-15 minutes. We celebrate Holy Communion on the 1st of every month and on special occasions. All are welcome at the Table. We also provide communion to our Nursery care workers and the children in nursery.  You are more than welcome to pick up your child and bring them back to the sanctuary to receive communion together. We also offer gluten free for those who need it.

Almost ever Sunday we use Powerpoint to project the words of all hymns/songs/liturgies.

There is coffee hour following the worship service. Come join us for a cup of coffee.

We hope this information has been helpful and we hope to see you soon! Please don't hesitate to call the church office or email us if you have any questions at all!
